There’s a mouse in the house, oh what a sight!

He scampers and scurries, from morning to night.

With a twitch of his whiskers, and a flick of his tail,

He dives into cupboards, where he’s sure to prevail!

He nibbled on crackers and munched on some cheese,

Then danced on the table, as if to tease.

“Oh dear!” squeaked the cat, with a wide-open eye,

“I never thought mice could be quite so spry!”

The dog made a dash, but tripped on a shoe,

The mouse did a pirouette, “Look at me, too!”

With a hop and a skip, he dashed through the hall,

While the cat and the dog had a grand tumble-ball!

He slipped through the cracks, oh what a clever plan,

The house was his kingdom, and he was the man!

He feasted on popcorn, and sipped lemonade,

Squeaking a tune as he happily played.

Then one day a friend came, a little grey rat,

With a top hat and cane, and dressed just like that!

“Come join me for dinner!” he said with a grin,

“We’ll feast on fine crumbs and toast with some gin!”

So there’s a mouse in the house, celebrating with glee,

And a rat who’s his buddy, just as happy as can be.

So if you hear squeaking, don’t fret and don’t pout,

Just remember the fun, there’s a mouse in the house!
