What do you do when you cant go to sleep?

A question very close to my heart. I have struggled with insomnia for as long as I can remember. Its rare that I get good sleep, so I treasure the nights that I do.
When I cant sleep, I read. Reading distracts me, it takes me away from my own thoughts, and takes me out of my head.
Sometimes when I am unable to sleep I write. I enjoy the peace and quiet of night time to write, I write poetry, journal entries, or just my thoughts.
I will make a cup of tea and drink it as I write.
Other than that, I sometimes listen to the radio when I am not sleeping, and occasionally I’ll watch the tv.
