Baby josh is coming out of hospital either tomorrow or Friday!
He’s now feeding every 3 hours. He’s only taking small amounts but he’s feeding! He’s making good steady progress! The doctors are very happy with him!
The consultant said there is no point in him being in the hospital, he doesnt need to be there! All of the test results havent come back yet from dublin, but the doctor said they were happy to let him go home, and when each result comes in, they’ll call a meeting with his parents.
We’re all so pleased that he’s making progress and can go home! He really is a little fighter!
Only time will tell how bad his hearing loss is, the hole in his heart is, and whether he can see or not. Also, his feet are turned in so there is also that to contend with but the doctors say physio may rectify it! Only time will tell if that is the case or not though!
For now he’s getting to go home to his mom and dad, brother and sister!
He’s a miracle!
It looks like all the prayers you’ve been sending to me regarding my cousin and her little boy are being answered! Thank you so, so much!
He’s doing a little better tonight. He took 35 ML of his bottle. He will have heart and lung issues, but so far he’s responding well to treatment! He’ll be in the neonatal for a while though. Tomorrow he’s having a heart scan to see how severe the heart issues might be.
My cousin is more accepting tonight of his disability. She’s heartbroken but she’s coping well. The neonatal nurse gave her a card with some phone numbers of charities that deal with downs syndrome so she has some support when she leaves the hospital.
Nobody is allowed to see the baby right now, except the parents. No one is allowed into the neonatal unit.
I’m so happy things are looking up! Its good news!
I appreciate all of the kind thoughts and prayers that you’ve all sent! They are really helping!
Remember a few days ago I told you my cousin christine had a baby? And we all thought everything was fine with them? Well it wasnt.
When the baby was born he looked ok. But he didnt make any sound. He cried I think at birth but then once in the ward afterwords he never made a sound, or moved. He had tiny ears, and he wasnt feeding properly.
The doctors came that evening, and looked him over. It turns out he has downs syndrome. He is also deaf. His ear canals arent developed properly.
His heart and lungs are very weak too. He’s gone to neonatal and is in an incubator now. We dont know if he’ll make it. We’re hoping he will but literally its hour to hour. He’s very very ill.
If you pray please pray he’ll pull through.
We’re all devastated. Its awful. How something as happy as the birth of a new baby can turn into heartache within hours. Its so so sad.
Please pray he’s going to make it. I know he’s badly disabled, but my cousin can deal with that. We just want him to live.
This morning, we welcomed a new baby into our family, my cousin Christine had a baby boy. She is calling him Josh. He weighed in at 6 lb 8 oz. Isn’t he beautiful? She had an emergency Caesarian section after her waters broke last night late in the evening. Mum and baby are both healthy and doing well.
I am going to my cousins baby shower tonight. She’s 8 months pregnant, she’s due her baby at the end of september! She’s having a boy, but she doesnt actually know that, the only reason I know is her mother in law knows, and she told a few of us in the family so that we could get appropriate gifts for her. The gender reveal is tonight, at the baby shower, so she’ll know tonight what she’s having. I am excited to go to the baby shower, its my first time going to one. I think it will be a lot of fun. I got her some cute outfits for the new baby. Two different ones I bought. I am going to dress up nice, wear make up and all, so I will post pics later this evening before I go out. And I will probably take a bunch of pics at the baby shower too so will post a few when I get home.. The baby shower is in her motherinlaws house. I dont really know her motherinlaw, so I am nervous because I dont know that side of her family, but it will be fine, all of my aunts and my mom are going so I will be fine. I will just enjoy myself, my aunt is picking us up at 8, and I am sure we’ll have a fun time!
