#writephoto prompt

Welcome to this week’s write photo prompt. You can find all last week’s entries in the weekly round-up, which was published earlier today.

Use the image below as inspiration to create a post on your own blog… poetry, prose, humor… light or dark, whatever you choose, by noon (GMT) Wednesday 30th October and link back to this post with a pingback to be included in the round-up. There is no word limit and no style requirements, except to keep it fairly family-friendly.

**Please note that many people on WordPress are having problems with pingbacks not getting through. They do need to be approved manually before they show on the post here, but to be sure, please also leave a comment on this post, linking back to your response to the prompt so that I know you have posted. **

For visually challenged writers, the image shows a hooded figure in the darkness, silhouetted against flames that echo its shape. The figure holds something in its hand that may, perhaps, be a wand…

darkness casts a shadow

over the woods

in the distance

a lone figure

casts a spell

Hocus pocus

abra kadabra

let darkness prevail

over the land

and let magic

rule this night!

Fowc with fandango…dabble

Welcome to June 6, 2019 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.

I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (US).

Today’s word is “dabble.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Or you can simply include a link to your post in the comments.

The issue with pingbacks not showing up seems to have been resolved, but you might check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.

I want to dabble in magic, mark said. In magic? His mom quipped, you dont believe in all that, do you?

Mark looked at her. Of course I do, mom! You gotta believe!

His mom tutted. Honestly, mark! Magic is a fools game.

You could dabble in something far more meaningful that that! Why do you have to have such outrageous hobbies?

I dont care, Mark said. Magic it is!

Then he went online to look for spells, as his mom went to find someone, anyone who would listen to her lectures about her sons hobby.
