Peanut Butter Bars
1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1/4 cup margarine, melted
1/2 cup peanut butter chips
1/2 cup chocolate syrup
Combine dry cake mix, pecans, milk and margarine in a medium bowl; mix well. Pour half the mixture into a greased 9 by 13 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with peanut butter chips and drizzle with chocolate syrup. Top with small spoonfuls of remaining cake mixture. Bake for another 20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.

Melting Moments
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 3/4 cups coconut
Mix flour, cornstarch and powdered sugar in bowl. Blend in butter until a soft dough forms. If dough is too soft to handle, cover and chill. Shape into 3/4 inch balls. Roll in coconut. Place 1 1/2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, or until lightly browned.

Chocolate Kisses
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
3 egg whites
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
1/3 cup fine saltine cracker crumbs
1 cup chocolate chips, melted and cooled slightly
Sprinkle salt and cream of tartar on egg whites; beat with a rotary beater to a coarse foam; gradually add sugar and beat until stiff enough to hold a peak. Fold in cracker crumbs; fold in chocolate. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper-lined baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes; remove cookies from paper. Store in covered container.

1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 egg whites
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
6 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup raisins
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine oil, egg whites, sugar and vanilla; mix until smooth. Blend in flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Stir in nuts and raisins. Pour batter into greased 8 inch square pan. Bake about 15 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Molasses Date Nut Bars
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup chopped dates
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs; beat well. Add molasses. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Add nuts and dates. Line 2 greased 8 by 8 by 2 inch pans with greased waxed paper; pour in batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 27 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes. Remove from pan; cut into 4 by 1 inch bars.
Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
