Old time popcorn balls

Old Time Popcorn Balls
2 quarts popped popcorn
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup water
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Place popcorn in a large bowl; set aside. In a heavy saucepan, combine molasses, sugar, water, vinegar and butter. Cook over medium heat, without stirring, until candy thermometer reads 235 degrees (soft-ball stage). Add baking soda; stir well. Remove from the heat and immediately pour over popcorn, stirring gently with a wooden spoon until well coated. When cool enough to handle, quickly shape into 3 inch balls, dipping hands in cold water to prevent the syrup from sticking.
Note:
After shaping the popcorn balls, wrap with clear or colored plastic wrap. You can add a holiday touch by tying them with colored ribbons.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.

Wheel of fortune lady day…

Did you know?
That today, besides being Presidents’ Day in the United States, is Wheel of Fortune Lady Day? Celebrate the birthday of Vanna White, classic letter turner. White was born on February 18, 1957, in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Trivia buffs: In 1992, Vanna was recognized in The Guinness Book of World Records as “Television’s Most Frequent Clapper.” Averaging 720 claps per episode, she puts her hands together more than 28,800 times per season! 😉

Love is in da blog Feb. 17th 2019

So well, the prompt for bee’s love is in da blog today was to find a love song from 2019. But I am going to cheat.
I love the song I’ve chosen. I chose it even though it is a song from last year. Its from the movie a star is born. And its a brilliant love song.

What do you think, do you like this song?
The movie is an awesome one too!

Poetry

She came from nothing
Humble beginnings
Just a girl, lost
Afraid, alone
Her face was a picture
So kind, so gentle
Her voice soft, melodic
This humble girl
Who had the voice of an angel
Her life was so hard
It wasnt easy at all
But she soldiered on
She was a trooper
She was fiercely independent
Relied on no one
Got through life
On a wing and a prayer
And even though at times
Fear would grip her
She never gave in to its power
And now, today
she walks, with her head held high
A true survivor
Who came from humble beginnings
A warrior
Because surviving is what she does best
