Song lyric sunday: A song that mentions another artist

Jim adams newepicauthor is the host of song lyric sunday, the brilliant music challenge that takes place each week on Sundays!
The rules of the challenge are:

Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not.
Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due.
Make sure you also credit the singer/band and if you desire you can provide a link to where you found the lyrics.
Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song.
Ping back to this post will eventually work, as long as you are being patient, but you can also place your link in the comments if you don’t like to wait.
Read at least one other person’s blog, so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process.
Feel free to suggest future prompts.
Have fun and enjoy the music.

This week he has given us the prompt of finding a song that references another group in it! A challenging prompt for sure as off the top of my head, I could not think of any songs! I had to do a little digging and heres my selection for this week!

Its a song by garth brooks!

Everybody hurts! Song lyric sunday!

For Song lyric sunday:

So this week for song lyric sunday, jim has challenged us to pick a song that respresents hurt, agony, or suffering.

Here is my choice, its REM’S everybody hurts

And the lyrics to the song…

Everybody hurts, by REM

When the day is long
And the night, the night is yours alone
When you’re sure you’ve had enough
Of this life, well hang on

Don’t let yourself go
‘Cause everybody cries
And everybody hurts sometimes

Sometimes everything is wrong
Now it’s time to sing along
When your day is night alone (Hold on, hold on)
If you feel like letting go (Hold on)
If you think you’ve had too much
Of this life, well hang on

‘Cause everybody hurts
Take comfort in your friends
Everybody hurts
Don’t throw your hand, oh no

Don’t throw your hand
If you feel like you’re alone
No, no, no, you are not alone

If you’re on your own in this life
The days and nights are long
When you think you’ve had too much of this life to hang on

Well, everybody hurts sometimes
Everybody cries
And everybody hurts sometimes
And everybody hurts sometimes

So hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
Everybody hurts

No, no, no, no you are not alone
