Love yourself, day 7

Happy Wednesday everyone! 😀

For today I am pleased to say, that I was able to think of something else that I love about myself! Yay!
Im getting good at this! 😀
No really though, I am enjoying the challenge!
Anyway, for today, my thing that I love about myself is…
My ability to be a good friend!
I love all of my friends. I work hard at being the best friend I can be. I appreciate all of my friends very much.

Until tomorrow…

awesome mom

my mom came over. she is cutting my grass for me as i speak. i’m sooo lucky. if she didnt do it I’d have no one to do it.
i am so thankful for her. she said when she’s done cutting both the back and frontgarden that she’ll help me cook dinner.
i’m going to offer to pay for a taxi back home for her. its the least i can do.
i have to try to contact my social worker mary to look into applying for funding to get my back garden slabbed. there is funding available to do some home improvements so i’m going to see if i can get it. hopefully mary can do something for me and help me to apply and hopefully the organisation who gives out the funding wont say no.
mom has COPD and she really isnt able to be doing heavy work like cutting grass. she has breathing attacks and has to take it very slowly when she’s doing it.
so yeah hoping i can make life easier for her by doing this and getting the garden slabbed with concrete.
i am grateful for her help though. and also it feels good to be back home again. i didnt go volunteering today. i said i’d wait another week before i go back.

Share your world Febuary 19th 2018

How do you like your eggs?
I like mine scrambled. They taste so yummilicious.

Have you ever met anyone famous?

No, unfortunately not.

What was the first thing you bought with your own money?

Some cds. I love music. When I was a teen cd’s were just coming out, and so I bought some when I earned pocket money.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

Even though I oftentimes will add photos to my answers, it is not a requirement to participate in Share your World.

Seeing my niece and nephew yesterday, my sister making time to text and call me even when she was on holiday, my dads cooking, my dog

Daily inspiration. Tuesday august 15th

A beautiful day begins with a beautiful mindset. When you wake up, take a second to think about what a privilege it is to simply be alive and healthy. The moment you start acting like life is a blessing, I assure you it will start to feel like one. Time spent appreciating is time worth living.

Volunteering. Todays supervision

so i think i’ve mentioned that i volunteer for the basement club a couple hours a week. on thursday afternoons from 2 until 4. i do admin work, answering the phone, data entry, etc. and i love it.
today i had my monthly supervision. colette who is my supervisor said some really nice things to me about my work. she said how much the staff valued my contribution. she said i was very consistent and reliable. and she also told me how happy she was with my work. it was so lovely to hear all that. i was really grateful and felt really appreciated.
so i decided to increase my volunteering hours. i’ll be doing a monthly newsletter starting in november. the newsletter will contain things that are going on in the basement club, and also some stuff that is going on in the local community. i will need some time to get it all typed up and stuff so i said i’d come in on friday mornings from 11 until 1 to do that. i enjoy the work i do and so increasing my hours seemed like a very good idea.
i have 18 hours completed now and once i hit 30 hours colette said i’d be entitled to a reference from her. obviously i dont plan on stopping at 30 hours though.
we talked today about getting another member to help me with the data input. a couple of members have done it in the past but a lot of them make mistakes, they dont take it seriously, and then the sign in sheets end up being done wrong. colette said it isnt me because last week she sat with me and watched me do them and she said my work is perfect and that it is the members who are helping me that are not doing it right.
so i did up a poster today asking for help. colette will train the member up before they start helping me. i asked for someone for 1 hour a week on friday mornings. hoping a few members put their names forward and offer to help me out.
