1% goal for the week, mindful eating!

So you remember last week I mentioned I was going to do the 1% goal and each week do something different with it? I chose mindful eating for the week and I managed to actually do it! And I can honestly say the food tastes way different when you mindfully eat! When you chew slow, take your time, eat slow, it makes a huge difference. I really noticed it. I can honestly say it did me good to do this! I am feeling great after it!
I mindfully ate dinner three nights this week. I cooked my food, sat down, got out my fork, slowly put food on it, slowly put it in my mouth and I savoured every bite! I chewed it slowly, I tasted every mouthful, I am so proud of me! It wasnt easy, as I was used to eating really fast! Eating without noticing much of anything.
It worked out well and I am delighted!
Now for next weeks 1% goal, I am going to take 20 minutes each day to read! I read a lot, but I dont purposefully take time out each day to just sit with my book, sometimes I am rushing around, and I forget, so this next week, I am going to do everything I can to actually read and finish my book and maybe even read another one!

1% it starts today!

A blogger I follow is doing a 1% improvement goal, meaning you do one or two small things, achievable things, each day, that will help you improve your life, and feel better!
So I decided I will do this too! Starting today!
For this week my 1% goal is to practice mindful eating every day!Normally I am so hungry when I eat that I wolf down my food! I dont really chew it or eat it slowly. This week I will try to do that. I feel its important to taste what I am eating!
I’ll post about how it went next week, so look for a post titled 1% goal! Each week I’ll post my new goal for that week, along with the results of last weeks goal.

Todays goals!

Today I have only a few goals. Mostly my goal today is to get out of the house. After the accident and all I’ve been stuck in the house all week. If I wasnt in the house then I was running around with my mom and sister trying to sort things out after the accident. So today I am going to have some me time. I am going out. Going to the basement club. There is a recovery group starting there today. A holistic recovery group. I am also going to a meeting about us forming a social committee. My friend Norma is also going with me. She recently joined the basement club. So I am picking her up at 10:30 and we’re going down there together. It should be a nice day. So other than doing that I dont have too much else I want to do today. All I really want to do is socialise with others. If I can do that today I’ll be very happy and I will consider that an achievement.
