Community involvement

What do you do to be involved in the community?

The main thing I do in my community is I volunteer.

I volunteer for an organisation, friendly call, that helps vulnerable or older people, people who are isolated, or who live alone.

I make phone calls to them to check on them, and to see how they are doing.

I do this 2 or 3 days a week.

I’ve been doing it for the past six years. I love it.

I feel a great sense of achievement, and pride, and I enjoy giving back to my community.

  1. Well done Carol … I have wound done my community activities for health reasons, but I am still handling the bereavement notices for my local Football Club, which at times can be quite a task … 😥💓

  2. If we weren’t so anxious about talking, someone we trust checking in on us like this would be so cool. We live alone with strangers and it’s scary because if we had a medical problem, we would not have help.

  3. You are doing a lot of good for a lot of people. Keep up the good work. I volunteer for our church a lot and basically do whatever is needed. I feed people who need food. We used to volunteer for the Colorado Saint Bernard Rescue, and helped a lot of beautiful dogs find their new, “furever” homes. 🙂
