The inner child in psychology is a concept attributed to psychologist Carl Jung. Jung developed the so-called child archetype as a way to help us connect to the past, trying to get patients to reconnect with the experiences and emotions from their childhood.

The concept developed by Jung gave way to many psychologists to take the idea of the inner child and use it in conjunction with psychoanalytic techniques. Our inner child, with its lights and shadows, is reflected in many of our daily actions and in the decisions we make.
