Nothing will make it right

There was an outcry of emotion

When I disclosed

The abuse I’d gone through

At the hands of those

Who were meant to be caring for me

Those who I told

Were appalled!

They told me I should take it to court

Justice needed to be served

I never did have my day in court

But I did receive a settlement

Which was something at least

For all the pain I endured

But nothing will make

It go away

Nothing will make it

Right again.
