From the wreckage I salvage

A life ruined

After so many years

Of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse

But from the wreckage

What can I salvage

I salvage

My battered and bruised heart

I pick up the pieces of my broken life

Put the back together

And make a brand new start

I am not a victim

I am a survivor

I am a warrior

I strive to make life better.
