Frozen heart

My heart is frozen

I feel as if

It’s about to shatter

Into a million little pieces

Emotion bubbles up

But I am unable to express it

Instead

My eyes fill with tears

My mouth dries up

The words refuse to leave my lips

My heart is breaking

Words unspoken

Threaten to haunt me

Forever
