Your scared of me?

Standing motionless

Afraid to move a step

A shrill shriek leave my lips

Am I hearing things?

I stand totally still again

Willing myself not to scream

Yes, there it is again

That sound

A creaking sound

It fills my ears

Oh shit!

Someone is going to get me!

I run to my bedroom

Jump underneath the covers

Scramble to safety

And then I realise

It was just my dog

Scraping at the door

And I feel totally stupid

For being so scared

Of a great big fluffy Labrador!
