Insomnia

I hide in the darkness

he hides in the light

and in between we meet

take over my mind

my heart, my thoughts

invade me

I can not

will not fight

I no longer see

guilt turned inside out

I scream out for the sandman

to bring eternal sleep

self-sacrificed to the gods

the way it’s got to be

the voices of one thousand maniacs

creep inside my head

echoing the warnings

of mistakes already made

but I fear I cannot be salvaged

until I awake
