#3TC for 22nd September

The two parental figures in my family home were the total opposite to one another. They had very different parenting styles…my mom’s was soft and gentle, while my dad’s was harsh and critical.

Luckily, I had the security of my friends, to fall back on.

I longed for my dad to be just like my mom, but life had taught him to be angry, and he thought harsh parenting was the way to go.

To this day he’s still critical, he still acts aggressive at times, especially if he isn’t in control of a situation, or if things don’t go his way.

I don’t know how mom puts up with him, she has the patience of a sint.

  1. I can relate to this in another way: my father and my mother are soft for their kids but not to each other. I’m not saying that they constantly fight but they disagree with each other’s opinion in an instant.
When they do this openly in front of everyone, it is painful to watch.
But this has taught me to be a good father to my son and a good husband to my wife 🙂
