Moonlight glimmers

In the night sky

Reflecting off the ground

Moon shines

Stars twinkle

I stand totally still

I wait for my dog

To finish exploring the back yard

He bounds over

Licks my hand

I turn

Look up at the night sky

Before closing the door on the night

And stepping back inside.
