I’m more than a little miffed!
I just got a text from the company who collect my bins.
Bin collection day is tomorrow. I got a text to say pay now to avoid non collection.
My peeve is this. Why do they give me less than 24 hours notice?
I mean, its all good, I had money in my account, so I just paid, but what if I didn’t?
I think they should give me at least 2 days notice. No wonder some people are behind on their bills!
With so little notice, things like this are bound to happen!
I don’t need to worry, tomorrow my bin will go out as normal and be collected, but I feel sorry for those whose bin won’t be collected either because they couldn’t top up their account because they didn’t have enough money to do so, or because they forgot and or got distracted and with only 12 hours notice to pay it slipped their minds.
I also noticed that the price of having my rubbish collected has gone up from 20 euro a month to 26 euro a month now.
That’s an extra 72 euro a year on top of the already over 240 euro I pay per year!
Its outrageous!

I only wish I could put my trash out. Being in a wheelchair I can’t do that because there’s no access for wheelchairs to the dumpster at this complex. Therefore I have to call and have it picked up at my door. The problem with that is they are between managers and apparently maintenance persons also— there’s no phone, no email, no way to get in touch with them at all. Luckily I have family here and if I get into a huge pile of trash in my kitchen they will take it out for me. It’s just the fact that you shouldn’t have to do that because you’re paying rent and with it comes a trash dumpster for your trash and if you can’t get to it? Guess that’s your problem. So that’s my rant for the day 🤪glad you got yours settled.

Thats a nightmare! I agree, your paying for it, its not cool that you have no accessibility to the dumpster! Very annoying! 🙂

Ugh, 24 hour notice is standard here. Got lucky here,trash is included with rent. But the cost increase is here in the states,too. Was a big article about how people’s bills went up here 30% and they weren’t even warned. This cost of living is going to kill the middle class and poor but fast.

Do I understand that right that bin collection isn’t a public service but private in Ireland? But 24 hours notice is rather rude 😳

Yes, it’s a private service, you have to go with a company. I go with Country Clean that’s the name of the company I go with. It cost about €350 a year to get your bins picked up 😊❤️❤️

Good morning, I hope you are ok. Blimey, that is quite a lot. Do you have to pay something like council tax too? We just read up that there is a local Property Tax but I assume, that’s only if you own the property. 🤗

No we don’t have to pay council tax, yes the property taxes only if you own your own property 💜💜
