A lone dog

In the distance
A lone dog barks
and I wonder
Is he warm?
Does he have owners?
Are they kind to him?
I look at my dog
Laying by my feet
He’s warm
Cared for
Loved
I want that for all dogs
Again I listen
To the lone dog barking
And I hope
That he’s ok

  1. We wonder as well. There are dogs in this area who seem to spend all of their time tied up outside. Kat barks but she is just communicating with the squirrels and birds. She has a BIG fenced in backyard and if she is outside alone, the door is open for her to come in.
