Tickly throat!

My Throat is hurting
some iced water will help
I drink it down
As the tickle in my throat gets worse
Suddenly I’m spluttering and coughing
Don’t they call it a frog in your throat?
When your trying, unsuccessfully to speak
But your too busy coughing?
To get the words out?
A big bottle of ice cold water
Now that hits the spot!
Heavenly!

  1. Haha, I had no idea frog in your throat is an English idiom too. It sounds rather funny in Dutch, as both the Dutch words for frog and throat start with the same letter. That’s why I assumed it was a Dutch-only idiom.
