Why do I feel so terrified?

I am so scared to go to sleep. I am afraid of the nightmares.
I’ve been having awful nightmares almost every night.
Nightmares about people following me, chasing me down, chasing me and hurting me once they catch me.
They are so frightening.
All of the little insiders are so afraid of bedtime. Nothing the adults do is making a difference.
We’ve tried calming music, reading, a cup of tea, journaling, we’ve literally run out of options.
I just have so much anxiety inside of me! I am literally shaking here like a leaf.
Has anyone got any suggestions?
Could really use them if you do!

  1. I always do a bible study before I sleep and pray to the Lord Jesus. I have been through a lot in my life and have learned to trust and have faith in him.
    You could always talk to me if you wanted. I’m guessing that having somebody to talk to before you sleep may help. We can talk about anything you like. Let me know anyway.

  2. Ugh… nightmares are the worst! Be mindful of what your brain is consuming throughout the day (music, TV, pictures, etc). Dreams often reflect emotions from our subconscious that happened during the day or if you have PTSD are considered flashbacks replying emotions from past traumas. If you are triggering yourself during the day somehow you need to become conscious of it and practice your coping skills and let yourself know you are safe. I get nightmares often and will have to reduce my social media time, news watching, etc and focus on calming activities for a bit to get rid of them. Also expressing gratitude (3 things I’m grateful for) right before bed helps as well. I hope this helps! Happy, restful sleeping! 🙏🏽💚

    I know first hand what episodes are like and how intense they can be

    I try to do things as well but sometimes things are going to happen no matter what
