My awesome morning at my work event

So I’ve had a really lovely morning.
My supervisor picked me up at 11:15, we then drove to pick up one of our clients who was representing the friendly call clients at the event.
Once we got to the office, we all sat down. There was just me and one other volunteer there, plus the client, everyone else was either staff or officials like politicians, people from the funding agency, city council etc etc.
We had about half an hour to talk to the minister about the work that friendly call does. We explained everything to him, about how we had 200 clients before covid hit, and now we’re up to 380 clients.
About how its not just a daily check in call that we provide, we also do other stuff like signposting people to different agencies and resources, doing shopping for the clients, changing lightbulbs or doing other jobs around their houses.
Well I dont do that, but there are people working in friendly call who do odd jobs around the clients houses.
We talked about funding and how we hardly get any from government agencies, and how we could really do with some to keep our service going.
After the minister had listened, he said he’d go and talk to some people, and set up another meeting with the supervisor in a few weeks time.
Then it was time for photos. We had to wear our masks while we were indoors, but we did get one group photo taken outside without our masks on.
Then it was lunch time, the lunch was sandwiches, all different varieties, and cakes, it was delicious.
I had to take my lunch home, we all did, only staff and officials were aloud to stay in the office to eat, you know due to covid and all.
It was a really lovely day and I thoroughly enjoyed myself!
