Sunday writing prompt

So you remember I said I reached out to my friend, now former friend Norma?
I say former because last October she quit speaking to me, and without warning too. She just stopped talking, cut contact.
I tried multiple times to reach out to her. I sent a card, I tried calling her but she had my cell phone number blocked, I tried using my landline but she didnt pick up.
Last week I was feeling sad and missing her. I tried again to call her and this time she picked up. She said she couldnt talk just then but she would call me back later on that evening.
Did she make good on her promise? Nope. She never called.
I can only assume either she’s in a bad place mentally, or she is thinking I’ve done something or assuming I have, god knows I don’t know what that something is or would be. I wanted to work things out, but well, its clear that isnt what she wants.
Whether her mental health is bad, or she assumes me to be unsafe, alls I can say is, not my circus, not my monkeys.
I’ve tried hard on my end to be a good friend. I don’t actually need her as a friend, I have a lot of very good friends, I felt sorry for her as she’s pretty isolated and I know she doesnt have many friends, so that is why I wanted to work things out.
I’m not gonna keep on trying though. If for some reason she does contact me, I may or may not respond, I feel as if she’s burnt her bridges with me now.
