Poem-A solitary tear

A solitary tear
Slips down my cheek
Awakened from a bad dream
I sit up
As the tears fall
wiping my eyes
I try to breathe
Chest tight
Heart pounding
Eyes glistening
Shaking all over
I lie back down again
Hoping that the nightmares will end
And, I can sleep

      1. I do sleep but that is a big process…first I have quiet my mind then have to curb my fear of not waking up to see the sunrise or sometimes I fear for my children
