I wish on a shooting star

This is in response to Di AKA pensitivity’s 3 things prompt where the 3 things we have to work with are:

I wish on a shooting star
To be able to laugh again
To be free from the pain of the past
Free from flashbacks
I wish and I wish
For peace from all of this
Terror and fear
That grips me
Night after night
But I put up a brave fight
I long for the day
When I dont have to look over
My shoulder and when I can
Simply go to sleep
Without wondering
If I’ll dream of monsters
If I’ll wake in a cold sweat
I just wish for
Peace, quiet, freedom
Now thats not
Too much to wish for, is it?
