This week we are dipping our toes into the pool of OPPOSITES. Our challenge is all about opposing forces and the use of antithesis in our writing. You will need to use the two opposing words in your response which can be poetry or prose.

Our words this week are:

east and west

fade and brighten

Here in Ireland, the weather people always say the sun always shines in the east, and the rain always falls hardest in the west.

As the last notes of her favourite song began to fade, her smile began to brighten the room, and her daughter knew that she’d understood.
