Melanie is filling a hiatus in Blogging Insights by asking;
I had this topic I wanted to explore via Dr. Tanyas excellent series Blogging Insights. Since she hasnt come back (yet), I thought Id just dive in and ask the question anyway. This post isnt to be considered legal because I didnt ask Dr. Tanya if itd be all right to do it. Enough hair-splitting.
My Blogging Insight question deals with
How thick a skin do you need to be a blogger?
Well, I dont think you need to have a thick skin, you just need to be able to take some criticism, thats all. When you write certain things, not all people are going to enjoy what you have to say, most will, but there is alwways going to be the odd one who wont. So, you’ve got to be able to take the good with the bad!
Bonus question How important is being understood?
I hope my writing is clear, and readable. I do try to be clear when I write. I think I have succeeded, no complaints so far which is nice!
It is important to me to be understood. My blog deals with many topics, including those of a sensitive nature, that being those that deal with abuse, mental illness, disability etc.
For me raising awareness of these topics is why I first started my blog!
I do find that some commenters who were commenting a year ago no longer do now. It saddens me. But then again, new commenters have began commenting on my work, that makes me so happy, I always love getting comments, and appreciate anyone who takes time to comment.
Comments are always appreciated as they let us know what people are thinking.
