Eileen is so awesome!

During our therapy session on Monday, I was really emotional. I told Eileen I was finding it hard to feel connected to her. I told her I wished we were in her office so we could physically be close to her.
She had me get a blanket and wrap it around me, and then she had me imagine her fluffy blanket that she keeps for us at her office.
She said imagine what it feels like to be wrapped in safety, and warmth.
And imagine me holding you, just like I do in the office, my hands on your back, one on each side.
It did help. She said her attention was on us and even though we couldn’t see her she was focused on us, bringing all of her attention to us.
I always love it when she holds us, its so sootheing and calming and calms us right down.
We used a metronome while we were doing the exercise, its the sound we use now while we’re doing EMDR over zoom.
I downloaded the APP and have been using it during the week while I wrap up in my blanket and think of Eileen holding me and supporting me.
We have a phone check in at 6:30 tonight, so in an hours time.
I cant wait.
Eileen is really awesome In her approach to how she supports us.
