Sunday poser #5

Sadje is our host for the sunday poser!

This week, share with us, who are you closest to in your family? It could be your siblings, parents, children, spouse, or could be a friend who is more than family!

I am closest to my mom but this hasnt always been the case. In my childhood I was close to her, she was my main carer, she sacraficed a lot for me. For much of my adult life though, we had a strained relationship due to my mental illness, but then, a few years ago, my mom and I decided to try and build a better relationship. And we succeeded at it. Now I tell her everything, we can talk about anything, and we share our ups and downs with each other. I am really glad to be able to be so close to my mom, I am glad we rebuilt our relationship when we did, it helped when she went to talk to my psychiatrist dr. Barry and dr. Barry was able to explain some things to her regarding my diagnosis. She’s still not great about it but the main thing is she tries to the best of her ability and thats all I can ask for.

  1. This is really wonderful that you’ve repaired your relationship with your mom. Must be so comforting to be able to share your thoughts and feelings with her. Thanks Carol for joining in.
