#Blogging insights – Naming name!

Why did you choose your particular blog title? Was there a reason behind it or was it just a random choice?

When I chose the name for this blog, I was originally just going to blog about the process of going through psychotherapy. But my blog has expanded, and now I write about therapy but I also write about other things, a lot of other things, but I decided to keep my blogs name even though the blog has now expanded. It just seemed apt.

Do you think that a catchy, click bait type title does better, or is a blog name that indicates the general purpose of the site more attractive for readers?

A blog name that indicates the general theme of the sight is more accurate I think. A catchy name wont really attract readers for too long, especially if you cant see by the blog name or when you click on to it what the blog might be about.

Some bloggers have the same user name and blog title? What is your opinion of this? OR Are you one of them? If so, could you share your reason for this?

Personally I wouldnt use the name blog name and blog. I used to though a few years ago. I had a blog called many of us’s blog, and my username back then was many of us. It got really confusing. So I am glad I changed my blog name and username.

  1. I quite like the blog name and author name matching, just that’s only because my brain has to only remember half of the information and it kills the need to spit up author and blog name! I actually tried to call my blog ‘LovingSummer’ but it was taken, and to make it worse it was taken by a user who has since deleted their blog! I think if you get your regulars then you get to know people, a bit like being on first name terms at work and then you get to know over time what people’s full name is too!
