Dr. Tonya asks us this week for her blogging insights prompt:
What distracts you from blogging? Apart from family and work (unless yours is a business blog) what factors or forces prevent you from creating content?
I am lucky in that I live alone. For the most part, I have a quiet house. I can write in peace whenever I want. Sometimes I blog at the weekends from my parents house, but even then I am pretty lucky because I blog from my bedroom and I am alone in there. One of the main distractions I have is Nitro. I could be writing and he’ll nudge my hand wanting to go out, or he’ll whine at me, or he’ll walk up and down beside me, distracting me from the task at hand! When I am at home I write in either my bedroom, or the living room. Sometimes the TV distracts me if I am writing in the living room as I usually have it turned on, if I dont have the TV on then I will usually have either the radio or some music on. If I am trying to think these can be distracting, but for the most part they arent. When I am anxious or worried I am also distracted, as I cant think clearly and am therefore unable to write my thoughts coherently and sometimes I have to just stop and go back to it later on.
Other than these things, I have hardly any distractions and am able to blog freely and I just love my blogging time! Writing is so theraputic for me!

Lol I have a needy Cocker Spaniel, but as long as I’m around in the same room, she’s pretty chill. For me, humans distract me more, and I’ve been trying to find ways to improve my focus, or to set boundaries. Thanks for sharing by the way!

I love to have music in the background but I don’t think it’s a distraction because I keep the volume down !

I do that sometimes too, when I am concentrating hard on writing!

I am sure Nitro is a welcome distraction at times when you need a break.
Writing and blogging are truly therapeutic.
