How I plan to see Dr. Barry going forward

Dr. Barry is supposed to be coming back to work on Monday, so the community psychiatric nurse said today, so we’ll see, but I think she is.

I’ve decided to ask Dr. Barry if we can have our appointments over the phone for now. I just don’t feel safe going up to the outpatient clinic, not with the increase in covid cases here, there were another 100 or so today.

I’m sure she’ll be fine with that, Sarah seemed to think she would be. Dr. Barry knows my moms health is compramised, so she won’t want me taking too many risks, and so I am sure it will be fine, and she’ll ok it.

Its a bit of a pain in the ass having to do apts over the phone, because we cant mess with meds, we cant really make any changes to anything, so basically it’ll be a chat, a check in to see how I am and how I’m managing.

For now though, I’m happy enough with that. Hopefully this covid stuff wont go on for a long time, I am hoping that a vaccine will be found soon. The way its looking in ireland right now though, with cases on the increase, it is likely we’ll be in a lockdown for christmas if we’re not careful.

  1. I’m sure she’ll be fine with it. Doesn’t she do Zoom or wouldn’t that help you? I for one still prefer to see my CPN and other mental health professionals in their office, as doing it via Minddistrict (an app that’s like Zoom but specifically for electronic mental health) is a bit hard for me. I understand though that you don’t want to run the risk of contracting COVID-19 at the outpatient clinic.
