I play pretend

Your three things today are:

I play pretend
And for the final time
As the lights go out
And the pain is sharp
Like a knife
It cuts me deep
I play pretend
Acting like I dont care
When really I do
I play pretend
Dreams scattering
Through my fingers
Like the sands of time
To all of you who taught
I was ok
I am sorry
Its all a lie
I am not ok
I never will be
I play pretend
