Bee’s Poem of the Day: I can’t breathe

Hello out there dear people of the blogosphere, how are you doing? I hope you and yours are well. If life is hard, then know you are in my prayers and thoughts if you do not care for prayers 🙂 .

It’s taken me a while to create a poem for George Floyd who passed away because of police violence in the United States. I do not think that it is only a political question.

I believe the reason why this policeman’s actions and the outcome resonate with so many people is that he acted deeply inhumane, and we all can feel the pain caused.

Since I have seen these pictures, I try to figure out how much I know about how racism really works. I have changed my reading list to black and BAME authors besides the books I am already reading. This is to educate myself and see where I need to change.

I pray daily that this is the beginning of the change we need so all of us can live in peace and to their full potential.

I can’t breathe.

Three words that shocked me!

Will I change?

Happy Tuesday despite everything. I believe change is not only fueled by anger but also by hope and happiness. Take good care of yourselves.

(I also post these poems on my Weebly blog)
