Bee’s Poem of the Day: Bicky anyone?

Hello out there, please come in, have a seat and a mug of your favourite hot beverage. And relax a little. Today we are not pondering old tv series or scary things. Today we consider deliciousness.

I am not sure if I mentioned it here. In January, when I was diagnosed with cancer, I stopped eating refined sugar. Since then I sweeten anything that needs sweetening with honey or dates or other dried fruit.

The only problem is biscuits and cookies. I love them. But they don’t really work without sugar. So I had to find alternatives. In a moment of madness, I asked on Twitter and for the first time got an answer. I wrote about it two weeks ago.

My public question got me two wonderful recipes. One is the Hais balls I wrote about in that post from the other week. The other is an absolutely delicious oat cookie. You can find the recipe here. Please go and check them out. I think I might go and have another one… 🙂

This

cancer

will not take

my joy for life.

Good things come to those

who dare to bake and cook.

As long as I can I will

and nothing will stop me ever.

I stand tall with my mug and bicky.

LOL. A little humorous take on this dreaded dis-ease…

Happy Saturday to you all, with a good mug of your favourite hot beverage and a good bicky despite everything!

(I also publish these posts on my Weebly blog)
