getting used to the I phone

I’ve had a time of it trying to get used to the I Phone 10.
I had trouble setting it up. In the end my sis had to set up the phone for me. I was able to turn the speech on but I couldnt get past the language part of the set up process.
Then I had awful trouble getting used to the phone having no home button. You have to swipe from the bottom of the screen upwards, to get to the home screen. I had trouble with that, so I went in and in the voice over commands I was able to change the gesture used to get to the home screen. Thank god as now I can use it and am able to do it much quicker.
Other than that though I love the new phone. I wasnt able to get back into my phones backup that I made on itunes, but luckily all of my info was on the cloud, so I didnt lose any of it.
Its been a trying afternoon but I am glad I have the phone set up now.
I reset my old phone back to factory settings and gave it to my niece.
She is thrilled!

  1. This post is pushing me a bit closer to biting the bullet and switching to an iPhone from the Android system I have been used to now since 2012. My son keeps pressing the issue. I like what I know and that’s that lol😂

      1. According to many long time debates, users of both phones…they prefer android to iphone. Customization, navigatio, cameras and other features are better on the android. Iphone is only fooled to be better because it is over priced. I am not an apple hater, but they do over price their stuff and rob their consumers. Look at it this was for less the price of an used iphone (not a new one) you could buy a brand new android of a latest addition or close to it. lol. I love my androids, but a personal preference and I simply cannot justify the price of an iphone. Like paying more than 100 for a phone to me is just ridiculous. For the iphone 11 brand new right now is like 700 dollars…PC’s, my samsung tablet, my anddoirs have outlasted or lasted as long as apple products my friends or cousin’s own etc and I am more than content with these products I own and I paid half the price as they did. 😛

      2. For me, android doesn’t work too well because of the access ability issues, Apple has access ability built into all of their products for the blind and people with other mobility issues and hearing loss and other disabilities so that’s why I always go for Apple

      3. Ahh that makes sense then! I never thought about that or realized the android doesn’t have as good of accessibility tools. Maybe that will change in the future. I was glad to hear you were able to get your iphone for sale from somebody instead of paying full price. 🙂

    1. Personally, I find androids much cheaper than Iphones. I am not a phone person at all, so it is unlikely I’d ever go out and buy an iphone. Lol. I love my android…I recently had a hard time parting with my Samsung to get a LG, but it was on sale for a really good deal etc so I was like oh okay…fine. xD Even that was hard enough for me to switch. I basically don’t own anything apple cause although their return policies are great and some of their stuff are great for certain stuff, it is just simply not cost efficient to me. I have found androids and PC’s that work just as well, if not better than Apple products for half the price. But if you really want to switch and can afford too do it. I can’t afford to and refuse to join the cool kid hype of the iphone. 😛 THe cost of an iphone is like 1/3 of a cost of a downpayment for a house or more…joke lol

      1. Ikr…..that’s my mentality too! I keep telli g my son that he’s been brainwashed by advertising. I am still on the fence. This has been an ongoing debate for us for 2 yrs now. Thanks for your comment. Have a good one😊

      2. Haha Nice. I think it’s all a personal preference. I have nothing against the iphone, I just can’t justify spending that much money on one. Lol. Android and Iphones both have their pros and cons. So far, androids have treated me well and my needs so I have no reason to switch yet. 😛
