That first sip of coffee

I start to boil the kettle
The sweet aroma
Of coffee
Fills my nostrils
I pour the water into the mug
Stir the coffee and take a big gulp
Oooo yes!
That first sip
So sweet
Sugary goodness
Now my morning can begin

      1. Carol Anne, there was one year that I was at a coffee shop. I had 5 cups of regular coffee. That resulted in a night of sleeplessness for me and my having an argument with myself over that mistake.

      2. Carol Anne, I am not too selective about my coffee for the most part. Having said that, if I come across a coffee that just does not work for me, I look for other options.

  1. Carol Anne, have you ever had a situation like that, where something is not funny when it happened, however, on reflection the only thing that can be done is just laugh over it?

      1. Carol Anne, I can laugh about that mistake I had made now. Quite honestly, as I recall, I was in and out of a state of sleep until I just gave up and lay there staring at the darkness.

  2. Carol Anne, I had hoped that the caffeine would have worn off before I was off to bed, however, all I could do was fidget and then I just gave up and stared at the ceiling in absolute darkness and ask, “Why me”? After that, I had the next thought in my mind where I said to myself, “You brought this upon yourself, genius. Live with it.”
