Fowc with fandango…double

Welcome to June 2, 2019 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.

I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (US).

Today’s word is “double.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No
holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Or you can simply include a link to your post in
the comments.

The issue with pingbacks not showing up seems to have been resolved, but you might check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually
add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.

When I was in the bording school, I had a friend who had glass eyes. We used to play tricks on people with them. We used to take out her eyes, and put them in places where others would find them, like at the bottom of a glass, or we’d leave them on her bedside locker for staff to find.

The staff would find them and shriek at us, you guys are in trouble! Double trouble!

It was hilarious to us. We got such a kick out of it!

There was a lot of trauma and stuff going on there, a lot of bad things happened, but that memory of us hiding her eyes and waiting to see what would happen, that’s one of the good memories I have of the place.

And she was my best friend, too. We did everything together. When I was being abused, she was the first one to know. She encouraged me to tell someone, and get help. I never did, for years, but she’d encourage me that I should tell.

Upon reading fandango’s word today, I had fond memories of our adventures together, with her eyes.
