Was looking through pages yesterday to find poetry prompts and signed up for Tweetspeakpoetry’s newsletter. I am now getting poetry prompts for five days and yesterdays was:
“The Prompt, Based on Stevens’s Poem
Start a poem with “one must have a mind of . . .” and choose a word
to complete that first line and explore through sensory language.
For example: One must have a mind of salad. One must have a mind
of seahorses. One must have a mind of roller coasters.”
Well, salad, seahorses and coasters might be intriguing but I stay with the seasons as we just left winter behind…
One must have a mind of spring
full of golden daffodils.
Full of rising larks and song
bubbling thoughts that dance along
on these paths to nowhere near
but we live which is us dear…
Ok, I think I try again….(blushes and tries to hide behind the screen…)
May you have a good laugh about this one and a great day!
