Bank business

So as I said in my last post, mom and I went to the bank earlier today. We wanted to lodge my cheque from the car crash settlement
I had to open up a new account. I already have an account with the bank, but I wanted to keep that money in a separate account. The girl we dealt with was lovely. She was so helpful. She told me about the different options. that were available, Then I chose to open a savings account. You dont get a card with that type of account, but you can transfer the money between that account and your main one and that is what I wanted to be able to do. Plus there is no charges, no bank fees with that type of account.
So I set it up and lodged the cheque and now I have to wait a week for the cheque to clear!
It was easy and painless to set it up. The girl we were dealing with did most of the paperwork for me, all I had to do was sign a few times.
And now I wait. But I am glad I got it done! I put mom on my account as a secondary person, she can access it if she needs to, if I am away or ill or whatever and need money but am unable to go to the bank, she can access my account fir ne.
So all is good! I am happy with the outcome. I can use the online banking app to access the money as and when I need it.
