Dont block out the past, our pasts make us who we are…

I’ve never tried to block out the memories of the past, even though some are painful. I don’t understand people who hide from their past. Everything you live through helps to make you the person you are now.

  1. The book I’m writing is about my past experiences and the lessons I’ve learned. It is extremely difficult to write and it’s difficult for my partner to read, but you are absolutely right. If it hadn’t been for the thing I did and the lessons I learned, I would not be who I am today.

      1. It’s meant to be interactive. Every chapter will have a story of a hard time in my life, then there will also be a lesson that I learned from that hard time. I ask questions and tell the readers to write things down and to make lists throughout the book. My intention is for the readers to know what makes them happy, what makes them a better version of themselves, and how they can set goals and accomplish them. Then, I challenge them to do the things that make them happy and a better person and to go out and actually accomplish those goals. There’s so many things that can ruin a person and make them cold and unhappy. Those are the things I touch on in the lessons.
I want to self publish. I am still looking into that. I saw Kindle and Amazon have a self publishing partnership, but the percentage they get is pretty high and I need to read up more on it and if it’s worth it. I definitely want to record an audio book for it too.

      2. Oh I’m so glad you said that. I’m really anxious and nervous about it.
My goal is to have it finished and ready to publish by the end of next year. I think I can get it done before then, but you never know what life will throw your way so i’m keeping that deadline just in case.

  2. I don’t block things out but I do find myself remembering things that I guess at the time they were happening I blocked them out without even knowing I was doing it. Now it just seems like things seem like they happened so long ago it seems as if it never happen hard to remember.
