Caffeine fail!

Well, I couldnt do it. I couldnt give up caffeine completely.

I tried, that has to be enough for now. Im still off coffee, I havent had any since yesterday morning, but I did drink some tea, so I guess I havent given up caffeine after all.

Oh well, I have to do what I feel is right, for me, that is having tea, or being able to have it when I want too.

Plus, a friend said its best not to do it cold turkey, give it up I mean. So I am taking her advice.

  1. When I gave up caffeine for my addictions counseling class, I switched to decaf coffee. It still has a small amount of caffeine that helped me taper. And I’d have some chocolate when I really needed a pick-me-up. It has caffeine, too, but not nearly as much as a cup of coffee. Just some things to maybe try. Tapering is definitely better than cold Turkey to avoid the awful headaches.

  2. I am not a big fan of coffee and you would think I would be since I live in Seattle. I am however am addicted to caffeine via soda. I have one soda a day plus a cup of tea in the morning. I don’t think I could ever give up caffeine because I love having my cup of tea in the morning. I have attempted to go off the soda but I failed at it as I went cold turkey.

  3. Some days I skip caffeine. . some days my only fluids are 10 c coffee . . when it gets cold I add ice or put it in the freezer and make a coffee slushee . . yup . . lovin my coffee . . then there are days coffee smells/tastes like a used ash tray . . so yuck! And that lasts a good 3 months. . like my body rejects it and is forcing a detox
