Feels so good to be back

so today i went back to the basement club for the first time since last october. boy did it feel good to be back. what a welcome we got. such a warm, wonderful welcome.
it was like we’d never been gone. everyone was just so happy to see us.
i felt at home. like i was where i belonged. i felt understood and accepted for who i am, no questions asked.
it was amazing. just. so. amazing.
we sat chatting for ages with some of the other members. we caught up with our mentor colette. and the other staff member bruno whose leaving on thursday.
colette immediately noticed our weight loss and said she was really proud of us for doing it and losing the weight.
that made me feel sooo good.
in the afternoon we went to the members meeting which usually happens every two weeks. it is a forum where members talk about the running of the centre. it was really good. we discussed a lot. i didnt speak much at it because i felt I was pretty out of the loop and so didnt have a right to say much although colette encouraged me to talk and asked my opinion on a few things.
on the 31st may we’re all going as a group to a festival in dublin, its called bloom. its a gardening festival and we’re having a stand at it. i’m going to go with the group. it should be a great day out. we’ll get a train in the morning to dublin at 9:30 and get one back to cork at 6 pm that evening.
i’m so looking forward to that. i just cannot describe how good it feels to be back at the basement club back among friends again.
i’m just super happy about it.
