The tide is turning

and my emotions are churning

a tidal wave hits

knocks me off course

I try to get up again

but I freeze

the tide is turning

or so I think

but is it?

or am I sinking

is it an ilusion

grab hold of the life raft

and swim ashore

the tide turns once more

an emotional flashback

whips and hits

and then, ever so  slowly

the tide it turns

to reveal

a calm and serene scene

as life bobs along

no more tidal waves hit

all I know for sure

is that I am

free, to be me
