so each month i get a cheque in the mail, called the blind welfare allowance, i depend on this cheque to do certain things, it enables me to add a little more to my income and be able to do some stuff that I otherwise wouldnt be able to do.
so well it hasnt arrived yet this month. its very unusual for this to happen. usually it arrives bang on the 1st of each month, and even if there is a bank holiday that month, it will arrive a day early on those months.
so well i had to go ringing the office that issues the cheques, and get a run around. i rang yesterday but no one picked up. so i had to ring again this morning. luckily the girl who answered was really nice. she said she’d had a few queries from people about the cheques not arriving. then she said that there is a new postal system that is delaying things, i never knew we had a new postal system.
she said to give it until tomorrow and if it doesnt come in the morning to ring her back and she’ll cancel it and issue a new one to me. but to do that i’ll have to fill out a form. should have known there’d be paperwork involved. it couldnt be just a straight forward thing. but anyway. its looking likely that she’ll have to issue a new one to me.
always something isnt there?
I was depending on this cheque for going on my upcoming holiday on Monday, now I’m going to have to borrow money from my mom and pay her back when I get the cheque.

Sounds like the ssi office here that I have to deal with for my son. Things have been much better since they started putting everything on a pay card and not giving checks. I could have it go into the bank but have had so many issues with banks its easier to just let then put it on the card they issue. Hopefully it comes soon and you don’t have to jump through their hoops to get it replaced. I count on his for rent every month then use my money for the other things that he needs. This way I know as long as I have $100 by the first rent is always paid. So it is very stressfull to wake up and they haven’t done it for some reason.

That really stinks. You can’t have the money directly deposited in your account? That is what happens to both my checks. But that is the US.
