Apple Rolls
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons shortening
4 tablespoons sugar
8 teaspoons baking powder
Milk
Butter
Chopped apples
3 cups sugar
2 cups hot water
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
Mix together 4 cups flour, 1 teaspoon salt, shortening, 4 tablespoons sugar and baking powder with enough milk to make a soft dough. Roll out, then spread with butter and chopped apples. Roll up and cut into pieces. Make a syrup out of the remaining sugar, water, flour and salt. Pour hot syrup over rolls and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
