I think I’d like to try yoga. I’ve said for a long time that I would.
Yoga is great, but it’s important to find the right teacher especially when you have a trauma history. Various things about it can be quite triggering, such as particular poses, being touched to have your position adjusted, use of particular phrases by the teacher, attempting to relax in the yoga nidra bit they often have at the end. It can sometimes bring up a lot of strong emotions and you start crying. I have a friend who is a yoga teacher and she says the emotional stuff is pretty common even in people with no trauma history. If you have a good teacher you can chat to them privately beforehand and discuss any worries and arrange a way of signalling that you’re not ok and need a break.
