Validation from our therapist

“I just want to tell you I got your emails, I had no electricity until last night, I guess I just want you to know I heard you, talk to you on Monday”

She heard us. That is so validating.
She sees us. She hears our words. She sees our desperation.
Thanks, Eileen.

  1. Isn’t that the truth, that simply hearing us, seeing our pain and desperation, already helps. It eases that fear of being all alone with this great big pain. Instead, we have a trusted companion who sees it all, who cares, and who won’t pull away just because of it’s size and persistence. That means everything.

  2. I’m so happy you have her. It’s brilliant that she wrote back to you. It definitely can change things when you feel seen, heard and generally validated.
