Anxiety strikes

I’m so anxious tonight. Mostly about college. I recently started my second module, in excel. And I can honestly say I am struggling with it. I dont feel I’m doing so well. I find the concepts and formulas hard to grasp. There are so many of them. And I have to type them all out long hand, I cant use the tool bars as my screen reader seems to have trouble reading them. Its just been hard. And my exam is in two weeks. And I’m so nervous. What if I dont do well or pass? What will I do? Yes you can repeat the module but only once. If you dont pass the second go round you just fail and thats that. I desperately want to pass and not only pass but do well I want to get a distinction. I am not sure though that I will. I know your probably thinking why am I worrying. I cant help it. I get stressed out easily. This is one area that stresses me out if my ability to achieve things, to get results and do well. So much is riding on it. I want to do it both for myself but also for my family who are seeing how well I amd oing lately in all aspects and areas of my life. I dont want to disappoint them now. I’m just over thinking and that leads to my anxiety getting higher. I should try to go to bed and calm down. There really is little point in worrying tonight as I cant do anything anyway about any of it.

  1. I know what it’s like. EXCEL is a bitch for formulas and if you get one character wrong you need to start all over. I understand the anxiety. I wish I could help but we are so far away. But like you said, no worrying tonight. Hope you get some sleep.

  2. Of all of Microsoft Office, Excel is the hardest. And I struggled some with it and I am an A student. I have test anxiety, you probably do too?!?! All we can do is try to relax and do our best. Good luck to you, hugs.

      1. It is and my class never got past the easy formulas and stuff. Now I haven’t touched it since about 2008 and now I am trying to make a spread sheet using open office free to everyone, but not exactly the same.

    1. Well my instructors are teaching me how to use it, but because I am blind and use a screen reader to read things for me it’s harder. It’s not totally accessible with the screen reading program. I’ll keep working at it though. Hopefully I’ll get the hang of it

      1. It’s such a horrible program. But if you can just master enough to pass your exam. I think it’s amazing that you’re doing something really difficult, with the added issue of not seeing. It’s a really complex program. The relief after your exam will be amazing! I hope you’ve planned something nice for yourself. Good luck with it xx

      3. Well, I did treat myself to a drinks maker, a coffee maker I mean, I can’t wait to try it out, I don’t have any pads yet so can’t try it out yet but can’t wait until I get them. Love coffee, I’m totally addicted to it
